environmental activism
A collaborative Mana Whenua and Waiheke Island community partnership project.
We aim to protect and regenerate Waiheke Island’s marine environment through the use of action-based kaitiakitanga - guardianship.
I am a descendant of Ngāti Paoa and have been residing on Waiheke Island for the past 17 years.
I am an active member in the community especially within the Arts as the 2020 Co-Chair of Artworks Theatre and on the Maori Advisory Team of the Community Art Gallery.
My relationship to the moana is natural and abundant. I am interested in contributing to the development of cultural solutions to issues around the marine environment that offer positive prospects and succession planning for mana whenua with the assistance of the hapori o Waiheke.
